Bea Alonzo filed lawsuit against Cristy Fermin, Ogie Diaz, and other co-hosts for cyber libel

At the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, Actress Bea Alonzo filed three separate cases against showbiz personalities Cristy Fermin and Ogie Diaz along with their co-hosts in their own shows on Thursday, May 2, 2024.

According to the actress’s complaint affidavit, she was the subject of false, malicious, and hurtful material from someone claiming to be close to her, which was published and discussed on Fermin and Diaz’s web shows with no basis.



This included purported insults to the actress in their articles and shows, as well as allegations that she did not pay the right tax.

Bea was joined in the filing by her counsel, Atty. Joey Garcia and his manager, Shirley Kuan.

The anonymous netizen who Fermin and Diaz repeatedly highlighted on their web programs without providing any evidence of their stated intimate relationship with Alonzo is also the object of the complaint.

In addition, as news of the actress’s breakup with her ex-fiance, Dominic Roque, surfaced and was verified by Boy Abunda, attentive internet users saw an array of charges from Fermin and Diaz aimed at her.

The couple declared their breakup and the relationship was over shortly after. There was much speculation regarding the reasons behind the breakup of Alonzo and Roque, who were set to tie the knot this year after becoming engaged in July 2023.
