MANILA, Philippines – A grassfire was reported by the seismologist last Thursday evening at the southwest tip of Taal Volcano Island.
According to the Facebook post of PHIVOLCS at around 11:30 p.m., the grassfire started at 6:40 p.m. around Binintiang Munti Observation Station (VTBM), but it was also stated that a grassfire occurs often in the area.
The same incident happened last year and last March 4 wherein a grassfire occurred but caused no damage nor harm.
Taal Volcano is still under Alert Level 1 as per PHIVOLCS’ latest update, citizens should remain calm and alert.
