The Japanese rock band Radwimps held their first-ever concert at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City last May 1, 2024 wherein the crowd was filled with cheers and lit up for the performances of their idolized band.
The band’s set list included their oldest and newest songs like “Lights go out”, “Nanoka”, “Never ever ender”, and many more.
Presented by PULP Live World, a local concert organizer, Radwimps finally connected with their Filipino fans who had a blast and a night to remember!
Yojiro Noda, the band’s pianist, expressed his gratitude for the warm presence of the Filipino fans who were hyped and enchanted by the breathtaking lights and visuals that uplifted the entire show.
He also stated that the Filipinos exceeded their expectations and they are sure to come back to the country in the future.
The set list also contained the hit songs featured in the anime film Your Name which was “Sparkle” and “Suzume” wherein another Japanese singer Toaka was the guest performer for the second song mentioned above.
Both songs brought goosebumps to the Filipino fans as they cheer in excitement and sing-along with the band during the concert.
Radwimps also prepared a heartwarming message that acknowledged the history of the Japanese and the Filipinos during World War 2.
“We don’t want to forget what the people, you know, what the people did. And I truly feel grateful to be here and standing in front of you guys and perform the music and you guys cheer up on the music. This means so much to us,” the pianist stated, which highlighted the name of their tour, The way you yawn, and the outcry of Peace.
“We would like to keep this peace moving on with our music,” he added as the band bowed to their audience, showing how they respect their fans wholeheartedly.
Aside from their pianist, their guitarist Akira Kuwahara and bassist Yusuke Takeda also prepared a very special gift just for the Filipino fans. They introduced themselves through speaking in Filipino which sent the crowd to another round of cheers and excitement as the two band members spoke in Filipino saying that they are glad to meet the fans and invited them to enjoy the concert.
